Why I am Here

At the Nursing Home

I often come to have some fun
With those who make me smile
We sing and play
The time away
For just a little while.

They often say, “What’s up today
That you intend to share?
For when you come
You make it fun
For us to know you care!

Although I come for fun, it’s true
It’s them, I’ve come to see
For when I go,
I always know
It’s not for them, but me.
