Ministry at a Nursing Home
Jesus the Christ (Greek) or Jesus the Messiah (Hebrew or Jewish) came to earth over 2000 years ago, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died willingly on a Cross at Calvary in the Roman Empire, and was resurrected three days later. He was here for 40 days being seen by over 500 people. He then ascended into the heavens from the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem with Peter, James, and John as witnesses. An angel present that day prophesied that this same Jesus would return at the same place. The last words spoken before He left were to His Disciples; it was a Commandment, not a request (Matt. 28: 19-20), and not only to the Disciples, but unto all who would claim Him as Savior and Lord.
Matthew 28 19-20 declares “Go unto all the world, teaching about me, (and when the Holy Spirit convicts people of their guilt and sins, believe in me with all their hearts and that God the Father has raised Jesus from the dead, they shall be saved.) (Romans 10: 9-10) Then baptize them.
While Jesus was still with the Disciples he told Peter that He was giving the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven to him and the Disciples. Whatsoever the Disciples would bind on earth would be bound in Heaven. Whatsoever things that were loosed on earth would not be present in Heaven. This was power to lead people to be saved if they would only listen to the Spirit of God.
Christ did 37 recorded miracles while here. Yet, he stated in John 14: 12, that we believers would be able to do greater miracles than he did if we believed in Him. What greater miracle would qualify as greater than the miracles Christ did? Only one! Lead someone to Christ and let Christ save them! The results would be a soul that would spend eternity in Heaven rather than in Hell. Don’t waste your life being too busy to miss Heaven. Find someone you love and take them with you. Be a soul winner!
To go and tell is a ministry that is identified in the Bible as “pick up your cross (for Christ) and “Follow Me”. Jesus spent most of His three years of life here on earth with the handicap; those with pain and injuries that hindered their mobility and quality of life. If perhaps, you are a believing Christian and needing a ministry to reveal Christ’s love within you, the clientele at any nursing home is a great place to begin, for they as a whole will touch your heart like it has never been touched before.
