One restless night, not too long ago
Awakened by God standing nigh. (John 14: 3)
I was whisked back in time
To share thoughts from my mind
To a place hence, long since, had passed by. (John 14: 26)
I beheld view, of the “Old Place”
From memories embedded, in my mind, (Prov. 5: 21)
It seemed nothing had changed,
For things appeared, quite the same
As if when, I lived then, at that time.
As we strolled there together in reliving my past
An old schoolhouse came into view.
When He opened my eyes, (Matt. 20: 33) (2 Kings 6: 17)
I then realized
It was there, where my life, was renewed. (Psalm 119: 18)
As soon as the preacher quit preaching
A call was given to come pray (Matt. 11: 28)
A small lad, then surrendered
His inner fears, well-remembered, (2 Cor. 4: 4)
He asked God to save him that day.
I will always remember the time and the place
That the Lord took the time
For to see.
Though the schoolhouse is torn down
But by searching around
I declare, I know where, God had saved me. (Rom. 10: 9-10) (Eph. 2: 8-9)
At times, life is hard for God’s children. (1 Cor. 15: 19)
Yet, there’s strength for making us strong. (Phil. 4: 13)
If we simply request,
The Father will then bless (John 14: 13)
And guide us along when we’re wrong. (Psalm 23)
