From another time, too long ago,
Too far from now, but yet, somehow,
To here, I’ve come to stand.
I think of when, my life back then
Was different still, as I went my way
To go alone toward parts unknown,
To here, today.
I take this time,
To lift my voice, to share my thoughts,
Deep from within, my truest Friend,
How great thou art!
There was a time too long ago,
So very young, too young to know
What I know now.
A passing thought, and yet somehow
I’m looking back on my regret
Remembering times, hard to forget,
That led me here to now.
I’m looking down this road ahead,
That led me through, a different view,
The path from which I knew.
No tracing steps have been my way
A different path I chose that day
But I moved on and left my Friend,
And cast my wares unto the wind
To here, today.
I now can say, yet here I stand
I lift my voice to all around
With head held high, I hold my ground,
Proclaim to all,
How great Thou art!
For now I stand, stripped of my pride
Yet, deep inside, You stand beside
Me as I go,
This path, I do not know.
To show I care and thank you though,
For being there, and caring so,
For me back then, I lift my voice
How great thou art!
How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
To walk with me, on my way back home,
My truest Friend, I stand anew,
For all to see, in open view,
That where I go, that all may see,
My truest Friend, in me!
