Some days in our lives when sailing along
Through turbulent waters ahead. (1 Cor. 15: 19)
Sometimes, when afraid (2 Tim. 1: 7)
From poor plans that were laid
We choose to start over, instead. (2 Cor. 5: 17)
Lack of trust in the Father, is often the cause
For many a wreck, we incur. (Eph. 2: 12-13)
To be foolish indeed
If, when seeking a need
We extend to the Father, empty words. (Eph. 5: 6)
By continuing to stay the wrong course
With no changes be made within view,
Then, the brunt of it all
Will surely then fall
As well, on the innocent, too. (Eph. 2: 12) (Matt. 5: 16)
If then, in hindsight, we see clearly
And accept the brunt of what’s happened. (1 John 1: 9)
If our sins we admit
Then the Lord will remit
And spare both the ship and its captain.
It’s true we’re to share, others’ burdens (Gal. 6: 2)
To help carry the burdens they share
For it is then, we depend
On the Lord stepping in
So this friend will know then, we care. (Rom. 10: 13)
Have we learned to discern, the worth of our vessel
Is not found, in the cargo inside?
Nor dents that appear
From the front to the rear
But is there, somewhere, in the ride. (1 Pet. 3: 15) (1 Pet. 4: 8)
