Define terms:
Faith identifies one’s belief and trust in a Supreme Being identified by Christian believers as God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost. These three are known as the Trinity or Godhead. This Godhead has created all things (Col. 1: 16-18)
(John 1: 3) and to know the Godhead, we must exercise faith
(Rom. 11: 33-34). Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11: 1).
Believing faith means to believe that God exists, and He alone knows what is best for our lives even though His existence cannot be proven by earthly means (1Cor. 2: 14) (Job 11: 6). The Bible simply states that it is impossible to know Him, understand His ways, and please God without this believing faith (Heb. 11: 6).
Sin is disobedience to God. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, it was designated by God as Sin. God told them not to eat of a particular tree in the Garden and they did being beguiled by Satan.
In the generation that we are living in today, we ALL, through Adam and Eve, have acquired this sinful nature (1 Cor. 15: 22). As a result, God, who created HUMANS will judge HUMANS and determine where HUMANS will spend eternity (John 12: 48).
When Jesus lived upon this earth, He told His disciples that after the Cross of Calvary He would return someday to get them and take them with Him to live eternally (John 14: 1-3) in a place prepared for them (1 Cor. 2: 9).
WHY DO I NEED TO BE SAVED? I DON’T FEEL LOST!
In the book of Romans, God had written the death penalty for disobedience to Him and an opportunity for new life in the same verse (Rom. 6: 23). This death penalty is not only a PHYSICAL death, but also a SPIRITUAL death. The physical body dies and returns to the ground. The spiritual soul will be returned to God and live eternally either in Heaven or Hell as determined by Judgment (Heb. 9: 27). The penalty of death (Rom. 6: 23) must be paid, whether by acceptance of Christ’s atonement on the Cross of Calvary or pay it oneself by going to Hell to live eternally (John 3: 18).
There is a real Heaven to go into and real Hell to avoid at all cost. The “god of this world” (Satan, Lucifer, the serpent, the tempter, accuser of the brethren, prince of this world, and other names) has blinded the minds of people about Hell because of his great hatred for God. (Isaiah 14: 13-14) (2 Cor. 4: 4). This was because Satan and one-third of the angels in heaven were cast out of heaven after a wars was fought there.
My father has passed on. In his later years, he acquired Alzheimer’s. During his life with family on the farm, I remember him acquiring his Master’s Degree plus hours in education which in turn helped promote more advanced educational opportunities. He reminded me often that these opportunities were the result of his being blessed by his heavenly Father.
When Alzheimer’s struck his life, his mind became clouded and “blinded”. He often saw things that did not exist. It was the result of the sickness. However, these experiences were very real to him. From his experiences, I realize the conditions of one’s mind being blinded and the reality of its impact.
The hidden reality for humanity is that death here on earth is not the end. There is life after death with judgment and continue life (Heb. 9: 27). The Bible states that life here is a vapor compared to eternity which follows judgment (James 4: 4).
Because of Satan’s efforts to blind the minds of lost people without Christ’s atonement for their sins, many people devalue the importance of choosing their destiny today seemingly oblivious to eternity ahead. Although Hell is a place of torments created for Satan and his angels, humanity without Christ, will unknowingly be delivered to Hell to pay its own sin debt with the wicked, unrighteous, and lovers of darkness who have chosen to follow sinful desires rather than God’s truth (Rev. 20: 10) (John 3: 36) (Rev. 21: 28).
The Departments of Transportation throughout our country have installed probably thousands if not millions of signs to help drivers navigate safely throughout the highways in America.
For those drivers speeding along the super highway that is broad and quite crowded (Matthew 7: 13), pull over and check your map. You might be on the wrong road. It’s much safer on the less traveled road that Robert Frost wrote about. As it did for Frost, it will do the same for you, “And that will make all the difference”.
