Following Our Dreams

Sometimes our dreams seem so hollow
When diverting from God’s point of view. (John 3: 18)
Too often in life, in choosing what’s right
His view is not what, we do.

Why is it so, life’s frustrating
And we just keep struggling along? (John 5: 40)
Could it simply be, the right road that we see
Is not the right road, but the wrong.

Should we not take time to consider
Where the road we are traveling might lead?
Could it be true, our choices we choose
Will not lead us, where we want to be? (Matt. 7: 13)

To fail to believe, His Word and then follow
Memorable joys, we’ll forget.
For following the traffic, leads only to havoc
With a future we’re sure to regret.

Then one’s dreams, from life not believing
In traveling the wrong way, we follow.
Will lead to what’s seen, from past empty dreams
A future with dreams, being hollow. (Rev. 21: 8) (Rom. 6: 23)
