Being on the Right Track

From the time on this earth, we are born
God’s plans for our lives, that we share (Jer. 29: 11)
Are sometimes deferred
By others we’ve heard,
To plans of err and despair. (Jer. 29: 18)

I recant my hunts with my father
And some hounds, some owners held high.
At times of dismay
The hunt going the wrong way (Heb. 12: 6)
Left some hunters, wondering why?

I remember some hunts quite distinctly
In keeping account of the pace,
In each of our minds
We remember the times
Of those hounds quit running the race. (Matt. 7: 13)

I’m reminded by God this comparison made
‘tween our lives and hounds in a pack.
It’s important to see
That what’s important to be
Is to always get back on the track. (2 Chron. 7: 14) Matt. 7: 7-8)
